Welcome to Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary School, located in Queen Creek, Arizona. You’ll find us south of Ocotillo Road and west of Rittenhouse. We are an elementary school serving students in the kindergarten through fourth grades, and are one of seven schools in the Queen Creek School District.

Our parents and community members support our school and students, and our superb faculty is dedicated to educating young minds. We are extremely proud of our students and staff, whose collective hard work again earned our school an “A” rating from the Arizona Board of Education!

Mission Statement

Principal's Message

Dear Pickett Families,

It’s that time of year when the hallways fill with shuffling feet and happy voices, and I can’t wait! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at Meet the Teacher night on Monday, July 21. While you are on campus meeting your new teacher, don’t forget to stop by the cafeteria and put money on your child’s lunch account; talk to the PTO to see what opportunities are available; and talk to someone from transportation about bus routes.

Due to an abundance of late-summer registrations, welcome letters were just sent earlier this week. If by chance you do not receive your letter, give us a call at (480) 987-7420, and we will let you know your class assignment for this year. We have added supply lists for the year to our News page and Parent Links. You will also find the following annual notifications under our Parent Links:

  • Confidentiality of Student Education Records
  • 504 Notification to Parents
  • Child Find Identification
  • Parents Right to Know (Teacher Qualifications)
  • Special Education Rights and Procedures
  • Use of Technology Policies and Procedures

If you are not able to download a copy of any of the notifications, please let the office know, and we will provide you with a copy.

We are using a new grading and notification system this year, which unfortunately has had a couple of glitches in regards to its e-mail component. We apologize if you were the recipient of mass emails. We have been diligently working with the company to resolve the problem. As with Jupiter Grades, your child’s teacher will give you a password which will allow you to access his/her grades and receive school notifications. Teacher will distribute passwords once the school year has started.

School spirit day is every Friday, and we encourage students to wear our school colors (blue and green) or a school t-shirt. We will recognize the class with the highest participation on the announcements and they will earn bragging rights for the week! If you are interested in purchasing a school spirit shirt, we will have them available for sale in the office for $8 during Meet the Teacher.

I’m looking forward to another great school year. As always, thank you for your continued support of Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary.

Sincerely,

Sherry Towns
