Mustang

Welcome to Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary School, located in Queen Creek, Arizona. You’ll find us south of Ocotillo Road and west of Rittenhouse. We are an elementary school serving students in the kindergarten through fourth grades, and are one of seven schools in the Queen Creek School District.

Our parents and community members support our school and students, and our superb faculty is dedicated to educating young minds. We are extremely proud of our students and staff, whose collective hard work again earned our school an “A” rating from the Arizona Board of Education!

Mission Statement

Principal's Message

Dear Pickett Families,

Welcome to Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary, home of the Mustangs! I am extremely proud to be the principal of such a terrific school. It is a pleasure to work with a staff that is so dedicated to helping all students achieve success. Our students are eager to gain and excited to share new knowledge. Our parents and community members are committed to our students and support and assist in every way possible. Pickett is a caring community that is dedicated to the academic and behavioral growth of our children. It is because of the commitment of all stakeholders that we are able to maintain our tradition of academic excellence at Pickett – an “A” school, the highest rating bestowed by the Arizona Department of Education.

It is my belief that all students are capable of learning and achieving high standards when provided with instruction that is based upon their needs. School should be an exciting and enjoyable place where students look forward to learning and all decisions are based on their best interests. My desire is to be a leader who promotes quality education and collaboration with students, staff, and parents; together as a team we will help our children reach their potential.

To be given the opportunity to work with the amazing staff, students, and parents at Pickett is a dream come true. Thank you for sharing your children with us every day.

If you ever have a question, concern, or idea please feel free to call, email or come in and talk.

Sincerely,

Sherry Towns

The Common Core Standards are here. We are implementing them in our classrooms across the district.

Arizona, along with 46 other states, worked to create standards in English language arts and math for the K-12 curriculum.

The standards provide the framework to help prepare students for success in college and/or the workplace. Please visit the links below for more information.
